Mr. Purushottam Khanal is currently the Chairman of Nepal Telecommunications Authority, a regulatory body of Nepal for the telecommunication sector. He has served NTA for two decades in various capacities and has held the position of Senior Director in NTA before the appointment as a Chairman. He has obtained Master's Degree in Development Administration and Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration. He has undertaken researches on the issues of rationalization of taxation in SATRC countries for the Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT). Prior to NTA, Mr. Khanal had served various Government organizations Nepal, like The Rising Nepal, and National Computer Center. As a regulator, he has been leading the sector for the proliferation of the ICT. He has long working experience in the license, consumer affairs, tariff determination, license compliance, administration, finance and legal matters. He has also led the Backbone infrastructure and Broadband project of Nepal for development and expansion of broadband in rural and remote areas under the USO Fund.
