Before embarking on a career in Disaster Management, Mr. Damian Barker dedicated his studies and pursuits to his first love: Computer Science. Mr. Barker graduated Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (Double) with First Class Honours from the University of the West Indies in Barbados in 2005 and moved to Anguilla to pursue a career in Information Technology. After brief stints as a Graduate Teacher of Mathematics and Information Technology and as a Systems Engineer at the Department of Information Technology and E-Government Services (DITES), Damian joined the Department of Disaster Management in 2009 as its first Emergency Communications Officer with responsibility for the Anguilla Warning System. In 2016 Damian was promoted to his current position of Deputy Director.
