Salma Farouque leads the preparedness stream of the Global Emergency Telecommunications Cluster (ETC) led by the World Food Programme (WFP). An engineer with over 15 years of professional experience in the private and humanitarian sectors, she holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic) and a Master of Commerce from Australian universities. Salma worked in the telecommunications sector in Australia before joining WFP through a public-private partnership with Vodafone. Salma has worked in Africa, the Middle East, the Pacific Islands, and Europe through her work with the ETC.
