Clara van Praag has been working in the humanitarian and development aid sectors for over ten years and joined UNHCR’s Innovation Service in 2016 as the Humanitarian Education Accelerator (HEA) Programme Coordinator. Prior to joining UNHCR, Clara worked in the private sector and spent six years with the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation working on migration in the Horn of Africa. Currently, she focuses on how to improve UNHCR’s ability to scale innovation - from understanding how to build scaling capacity to what contextual factors need to be in place to enable scale. Within UNHCR’s Connectivity for Refugees initiative, Clara examines how to enhance communication and information dissemination leveraging all potential connectivity tools. She truly believes in UNHCR’s approach to innovation which is based on diversity and inclusion, something that would be great to see across the board in all sectors.
