Prof. Hassan Sefrioui has 25 years R&D experience in both industrial and academic settings. He holds a Master degree from the University of Liege (Belgium), a Ph.D in Medical Science from the University of Leuven (Belgium) and several postdoctoral years at University California San Diego (USA) and University Minnesota Twin Cities (USA).
After his postdoctoral fellowships, Pr. Sefrioui held several R&D management positions at the European biotech industry sector. He was heading drug discovery program ‘Targeted Therapeutics’ at Tigenix (Belgium) (Subsidiary of TAKEDA) and led several biotechnology projects at former 4AZA Biosciences (Belgium).
Presently, Prof. Sefrioui is Director Biotechnology Center and Board member at MAScIR Foundation (Morocco). His team has developed Morocco first medical diagnostic kits that lead to the creation of the startup MOLDIAG. Some of these kits are commercialized (covid-19 kit) others are under registration phase (cancers and infectious diseases).
Pr. Sefrioui is coauthor of 10 international patents and published around 40 publications in biotechnology field. He is a board member of several international journals and has been awarded several awards including the Competitiveness & Industry-Academy Award ((Morocco), The Africa Health Innovation Award (Kenya) and NIH Postoc Fellowship (USA).
