In his Government Affairs, EMEA role at Symantec, based out of London, Giampiero collaborates with Governments, Regulators and Security Agencies in EMEA, as well as International Organizations, like ITU, OECD, OSCE, NATO and EU, on policies for cybersecurity, data privacy, smart cities and critical information infrastructure protection.

He is actively involved in the GDPR and Privacy discussions with Legislators, Supervisory Authorities and customers, including about how the legislative needs should be translated into cyber security policies, strategies and technological solutions.

He also led the discussion around Smart Cities and their need for cyber-security, data protection and resilience, having pioneered and formalized a conceptual approach for it in 2013, and contributed to the ITU-T Study Groups 5 and 20 and their Smart Cities activity. Previous appointments include Microsoft, IBM, Accenture, Cisco, mainly in Consulting and Public Sector.
