Mr Nilsson joined Ericsson in 1987 as a systems engineer and project manager. Later responsible for opening the mobile communications business for Ericsson into Japan (1989-2003). 1994-1998 Director responsible for technical strategies for future mobile systems, here driving the introduction of GSM into North America and the early steps of 3G. 1998-2004 VP and head of standards, thus running the overall standardization machinery for Ericsson. 2005 CEO of OMTP, an industry initiative targeting advanced mobile device platforms. 2006-2008 Head of Multimedia portfolio. VP and head European affairs 2008-2011. Since 2012 at the CTO office with responsibilities for Cybersecurity, digitalization and the role of 5G. Thus a Mobile Industry veteran.
