Visa Requirements

 1. Nationals who do not require an entry visa for Panama

a. Nationals of the countries (including British territories) listed below who do not require an entry visa for Panama (regardless of the type of passport i.e ordinary or diplomatic, official, consular or special):

b. Nationals of the following countries do not require a visa to enter Panama only if they posses a diplomatic, consular, official or special passport:

· Philippines

· Dominican Republic

· Ukraine

· Viet Nam

· Haiti

· Cuba

· Russian Federation

c. Regardless of nationality, passport holders:

i. who have a valid visa duly issued by Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States or any Member State of the European Union and whose visa has been used at least once to enter the territory of the country issuing the visa;

ii. who are legal residents of the countries Australia, Canada, the United Kingdom, the United States or any Member State of the European Union.

do not require a visa to enter Panama.

2. Nationals who require a visa prior to departure

There are two types of visas issued for Connect Americas for passport holders requiring visas before departure: stamped visas and authorized visas. Both types ofvisa are delivered free of charge for duly registered participants.

a. Stamped visas
To enter Panama, any national of the following list of countries requires a visa stamped on their passport prior to their arrival to Panama:

Procedure to apply for a visa

3. Nationals from countries that need a STAMPED VISA should request it at the nearest Panamanian Consulate with the following documents:

 i. Photocopy of the passport page that has the picture and personal details. The passport must be valid for more than 90 days from the planned date of entry.

ii. A duly completed and signed visa application form

iii. The official confirmation from ITU received at the time of registration and which bears a unique ID number.

Note: Between 3 and 5 days are required at the minimum for processing the visa application form from the date the complete documentation has been submitted.

4. Nationals from countries that need an AUTHORIZED VISA should request it at the nearest Panamanian Consulate submitting all the documentation forthe stamped visa (under i to iii above).

Note: This procedure, subject to the authorization of the National Migration Authority and the National Security Council, is subject to a minimum of ten (10) working days for processing.

5. Special procedure when there is no Panamanian consulate

For passport holders who require a stamped or authorized visas but who are in countries that do not have Panamanian Consulates, a special procedure has been established.

The participants must provide the following documents:

 i. A scanned copy of the passport page that has the picture and personal details and that shows the passport validity which must be more than 90 days from the planned date of entry;

ii. A scanned copy of the duly completed and signed visa application form;

iii. The official confirmation from ITU received at the time of registration and which bears a unique ID number.

If it is an ordinary passport, a notification in Spanish and English will be sent to the participant by the National Migration Service with the visa authorization and stating that the visa will be stamped upon arrival to Panama.

If the passport is Diplomatic, Consular, Official or Special, a notification in Spanish and English will be sent from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to the participant with the visa authorization and stating that the will be stamped upon arrival to Panama.

The participant must present this notification at the airline counter at registration to be able to board the airplane. Upon arrival in Panama the notification shall be presented to the Immigration officials so the visa will be stamped in the participant’s passport.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

Participants should check whether any of the connecting flights to Panama transit through countries where they would require a transit visa. Please refer to the visa requirements of the specific transit country(ies).
