ITU TELECOM WORLD 2003
Helping the world communicate
Geneva will be
welcoming for the 9th time ITU TELECOM WORLD 2003,
which will open its doors at the Palexpo Exhibition and Conference Centre from
12 to 18 October.
In its ongoing mission to spread the knowledge of new
technologies throughout the world and to provide a stage for high-level industry
discussions, the ITU TELECOM Secretariat is busy preparing for
this major global event held every four years.
Building on its long history as the global exhibition
and forum for the telecommunication and information and communication
technologies industry, TELECOM WORLD 2003 promises
to be a truly significant event. This year’s theme “Helping the world
communicate” highlights ITU’s unique role as the organizer of the event and
its particular mission as an international organization.
TELECOM WORLD 2003 is the
ninth event and brings many enhancements to the industry, such as the debut of
“TELECOM Village”, a dedicated corporate office and meeting environment set
in the heart of Geneva-Palexpo’s new Hall 6. TELECOM Village meets the needs
of those exhibitors whose strategy is focused purely on high-level executive
meetings and presentations.
Another innovation is the introduction of “Showcase
Presentations” set in the Arena adjacent to Geneva-Palexpo. Here, companies
may make corporate presentations to large audiences introducing new products or
sharing their vision of the latest trends in the industry.

For exhibitors and visitors alike, the TELECOM
WORLD 2003 event offers great new services such as on-line
networking that will ensure they make the contacts they value most and on-line
registration to speed them on their way from the moment they arrive at the
event.
ITU Forum is an exciting component of the TELECOM
WORLD 2003 event. With an expanded structure and topics, Forum
participants will discuss and debate the hottest issues and opportunities
confronting the industry today. The Forum consists of three main activities
including the Youth Forum, the Telecommunication Development Symposium (TDS) and
the main Forum.
We encourage all industry leaders to mark their
calendar to be in Geneva between 12 and 18 October 2003 to take part in “Helping
the world communicate”.
