CONSTITUTION AND CONVENTION OF THE ITU (GENEVA, 1992), KYOTO, 1994 AND MINNEAPOLIS, 1998

• The Government of the Kingdom of Lesotho has ratified the above-mentioned Constitution and Convention.

• The instrument of ratification was deposited with the Secretary-General on 22 March 2002.

INSTRUMENTS AMENDING THE CONSTITUTION AND CONVENTION OF THE ITU (GENEVA, 1992), MINNEAPOLIS, 1998

• The Government of the Republic of Botswana has ratified the instruments amending the above-mentioned Constitution and Convention.

• The instrument of ratification was deposited with the Secretary-General on 22 March 2002.

• The Government of Malaysia has ratified the instruments amending the above-mentioned Constitution and Convention.

• The instrument of ratification was deposited with the Secretary-General on 7 March 2002.

• The Government of the Russian Federation has ratified the instruments amending the above-mentioned Constitution and Convention.

• The instrument of ratification was deposited with the Secretary-General on 6 March 2002.

CHANGE

• Libertel B.V., which participates in the work of the Telecommunication Standardization Sector, has changed its name. The new denomination is Vodafone Libertel N.V.

NEW MEMBERS

Telecommunication Standardization Sector

• Centre Régional de Maintenance des Télécommunications de Lomé (CMTL SA) (Lomé) and TOGO TELECOM (Lomé) have been admitted to take part in the work of this Sector.

Telecommunication Development Sector

• Barkouky Telecom Co. (Cairo), Centre Régional de Maintenance des Télécommunications de Lomé (CMTL SA) (Lomé) and TOGO TELECOM (Lomé) have been admitted to take part in the work of this Sector.

NEW ASSOCIATES

Telecommunication Standardization Sector

• Avance Logic, Inc. (San Jose, CA), Mobil-Com Multimedia GmbH (Büdelsdorf, Federal Republic of Germany) and Okinawa Photonics Inc. (Tokyo) have been admitted to take part in the work of Study Group 15.

• Surf Communication Solutions Ltd (Yokneam, State of Israel) has been admitted to take part in the work of Study Group 16, as from 1 March 2003.

STRUCTURAL CHANGE

Republic of Bulgaria

• The Communications Regulation Commission (CRC) has been established as the new regulatory body in the field of communications. CRC’s establishment follows the approval of amendments to the Telecommunications Law by the National Assembly at the end of 2001. The new regulator replaces the State Telecommunications Commission (STC), and has taken over all domestic and international activities, rights and responsibilities.
