تقدم التوصية ITU-T Y.3600 متطلبات وقدرات وحالات استعمال البيانات الضخمة القائمة على الحوسبة السحابية إضافة إلى السياق الخاص بنظامها. وتوفر البيانات الضخمة القائمة على الحوسبة السحابية قدرات من أجل جمع وتخزين وتحليل ومعاينة وإدارة أشكال متنوعة من قواعد البيانات ذات الأحجام الضخمة التي يتعذر نقلها وتحليلها بسرعة باستعمال التكنولوجيات التقليدية.
