Launch of the Network of Acceleration Centres to unlock innovation for sustainable digital transformation<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/div>\n\n

ITU\u2019s Network of Acceleration Centres will enhance local innovation and entrepreneurship for impact<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n\n

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has selected 17 organizations from around the world to host its new flagship Network of Acceleration Centres \u2013 one of the primary vehicles of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

The Acceleration Centres will drive digital transformation through a unique ecosystem-thinking approach, and enhance capabilities to boost innovation, entrepreneurship, and the digitalization of economies.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

Once established, the Acceleration Centres will deliver on the objectives of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development to help countries build critical local enablers to bridge the digital innovation gap and empower ITU membership to overcome challenges in navigating our changing digital environment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

\n

\u201cThe Network of Acceleration Centres will equip countries to take well-thought out and concrete action to unlock innovation for sustainable digital transformation,\u201d Cosmas Zavazava, Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT). \u201cI look forward to working with the selected hosting organizations to create Acceleration Centres. They will help stakeholders to innovate and develop new, more resilient, and forward-thinking approaches to navigate today\u2019s digital world and build our digital future.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

The Network will enhance national, regional, and global innovation capabilities for technology, policy, and flagship initiative development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n

Each Acceleration Centre will focus on up to five strategic objectives:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n
