MPD Tools<\/p>\n The ITU Jupyter Notebooks provide a hands-on, PySpark-based resource for statisticians and data scientists working with mobile phone data (MPD). Designed as a step-by-step guide, the notebooks walk users through the entire process of preparing and analyzing MPD to produce official statistics\u2014specifically the SDG indicator 17.8.1, the proportion of individuals using the Internet. The series covers everything from setting up the technical environment, cleaning and processing raw data, and applying rigorous quality assurance checks, to implementing a \u201chome algorithm\u201d that links subscribers to geographic areas and calculating the final indicator. Along the way, users gain practical skills for ensuring data quality, filtering out noise, and disaggregating results by technology type, geography, and\u2014where available\u2014demographic characteristics.
