Electricity

The electric current is 220-volt AC throughout the country. For Thailand, the picture/diagram shows the type of main power plug used in Thailand so participants can bring the right adaptor for their electrical appliances. This plug and receptacle are technically known as NEMA 5-15 (North American 15 A/125 V grounded).

Climate

The weather in Bangkok is usually warm and humid. Light tropical clothing would be appropriate. The event rooms where the meetings are to be held are air-conditioned and the temperature is maintained in the range of 28-30 degrees Celsius (82-86 degrees Fahrenheit).

Currency, banks and credit cards

The unit of Thai currency is Thai Baht (THB). The exchange rate as of December 2024, is THB 34.21 to 1 USD.[1]  (Exchange rates on the Bank of Thailand). Visa, American Express, Access/MasterCard, and Diners Club cards can also be used. Banks are generally open from Monday to Saturday, from 9.30 to 15.30.

Visas

Visitors to Thailand may require a visa depending on their nationality. It is recommended to check with the Thailand Embassy or Consulate in your home country regarding visa requirements. Travel and Transport

Airport: Suvarnabhumi Airport is located approximately 35 km east of Eastin Grand Hotel Sathorn, Bangkok. Travel time is about 35-45 minutes by taxi or shuttle. Don Muang Airport, the former Bangkok International Airport, currently handles domestic flights and some low-cost international flights. Hotel Accomodation

Participants are responsible for meeting their accommodation costs. However, special rates have been negotiated by the organizing committee as provided in the list of hotels. Delegates are encouraged to make bookings at any of these listed hotels directly and avail their booking information.
