Simple tool called MOSAIKS (short for \u201cMulti-Task Observation Using Satellites and Kitchen Sinks\u201d) that transforms satellite imagery from almost anywhere on earth into summary information that can be used to predict a wide range of different outcomes\u00a0 in a matter of minutes using a standard laptop computer. This improves the quality and frequency of information used by decision makers, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) where accurate and timely data is often difficult, if not impossible, to come by. Examples of use case: Being able to comprehensively monitor deforestation, and provide a better assessment of\u00a0 policies to protect forests and the communities <\/div>\n

Wastezon developed an integrated digital solution that sources e-waste and facilitates refurbishment to obtain either; quality-vetted second-hand devices for consumers or secondary raw materials for manufacturers. By tracing and refurbishing over 510 tons of electronic waste, we digitised over 3000 Rwandan households and generated 10 tons of varying raw materials for manufacturers and recyclers. Our solution creates a holistic system response to e-waste pollution, digital exclusion, and virgin extractive mining.
