provides a neutral platform that addresses issues of transparency, trust and security, concerns about displacing jobs and exacerbating inequalities \u2013 while building an understanding of AI capabilities, facilitating trusted, safe and inclusive development of AI, and equitable access to its benefits.<\/span><\/span><ul><li><span lang=\"en-US\">AI for Good is organized by ITU in partnership with 38 UN sister agencies, XPRIZE Foundation, ACM and co-convened with Switzerland.<\/span><\/li><li><span lang=\"en-US\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/aiforgood.itu.int\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><u>AI for Good Global Summit<\/u><\/span>&gt;<\/a><span lang=\"en-US\"> is a year-round digital platform <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">where AI innovators and problem owners learn, build and connect to help identify practical AI solutions to advance the SDGs. In 2020 <\/span><span lang=\"en-US\">the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/ITU-T\/extcoop\/ai-data-commons\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><u>Global Initiative on AI and Data Commons<\/u><\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\"> was launched. <\/span><\/li><li><span lang=\"en-US\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/c\/aiforgood\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><u>AI for Good channel on YouTube<\/u><\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\"> is a one-stop shop to catch up on trends in AI for Good.<br \/><\/span><\/li><li><span lang=\"en-US\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/ITU-T\/AI\/challenge\/2020\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><u>ITU AI\/Machine Learning in 5G Challenge<\/u><\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\"> studies the practical application of AI\/ML in emerging and future networks, bringing together 1\u00a0300 competitors from 62 countries \u2013 and 911 teams.<br \/><\/span><\/li><li><span lang=\"en-US\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/aiforgood.itu.int\/about\/ai-ml-pre-standardization\/ai4roadsafety\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><u>AI for Road Safety initiative<\/u><\/span><\/a><i> <\/i><span lang=\"en-US\">promotes an AI-enhanced approach to reduce fatalities across road-safety management, safer roads and mobility, safer vehicles, safer road users, post-crash response, and speed control.<br \/><\/span><\/li><li><span lang=\"en-US\">AI-related radio communications recommendations are available <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/action\/ai\/emerging-radio-technologies\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><u>online<\/u><\/span><\/a><span lang=\"en-US\">.<br \/><\/span><\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><\/li><li><span lang=\"en-US\">Internet of Things (IoT)<\/span><span lang=\"en-US\"> \u2013 ITU enables the coordinated development of interoperable IoT technologies, encompassing millions of connected devices and objects:<\/span><ul><li><span lang=\"en-GB\">ITU develops international standards to enable the coordinated development of IoT technologies, including machine-to-machine communications and ubiquitous sensor networks.<\/span>&gt;<\/li><li><span lang=\"en-US\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.itu.int\/en\/ITU-T\/focusgroups\/ai4a\/Pages\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span lang=\"en-US\"><u>Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) for Digital Agriculture (FG-AI4A)<\/u><\/span><\/a> explores how emerging technologies including AI and IoT can optimize agricultural production.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul><ul><li><span lang=\"en-US\">Quantum information technology (QIT) harnesses quantum mechanics and will profoundly impact ICT networks.
