Connectivity challenges & Opportunities - Bolivia

Bolivia is a landlocked developing country with a large land area and a low population density. With a population of over 10 million and a land area a little over 1 million square kilometres, it faces some unique challenges to developing its information and communications technology (ICT) sector. Our report Landlocked Developing Countries (LLDCs) in the Americas Region – Connectivity Challenges and Opportunities – Bolivia analyzes the evolution and status of the country’s ICT sector, especially in terms of its legal and regulatory aspects, connectivity, services and pricing. It also reviews how ICT is used throughout Bolivia in the public, economic, and social sectors while identifying initiatives that could improve efficiency in these sectors. Finally, the report analyzes the challenges Bolivia faces that might impede ICT development and explores opportunities for improving ICT development.
