Contribution : The iRights principles are relevant in today’s context and covers a number of important areas pertaining to the rights of children in the digital world. Further, this initiative could be further enhanced by incorporating education and awareness targeting the stakeholders that are directly affected by online privacy and security issues. Therefore, an awareness campaign to educate the public including the target audience (Children as well s adults) could be recommended. In Sri Lanka the national CERT regularly conducts similar awareness sessions to its constituents as part of its mandate. For example, these sessions are conducted in schools targeting students and teachers to educate them about their rights when using the Internet and how to stay safe online.
