Installation procedure:

1. Extract the downloaded archive to your hard disk. Make sure that you preserve the folder structure as it is in the archive file.

2. Start up the setup.exe file.

3. In the list of software programs to install select GIMS, which is the only program available with this particular setup.

4. The IDWM libraries required by GIMS are installed first.

5. Answer "No" when the GIMS setup proposes to install the reference database. It is not provided with this setup. To get the GIMS data, you have to buy the SRS DVD.


If you do not have any reference database installed, GIMS will show an error message when it starts. Just ignore it. 
To disable the automatic opening of the reference database at startup, go to the menu Edit|Preferences. Click on the Database tab and uncheck the option "Open reference database at startup".
