YOUTH4CYBER: WHAT IS IT?
In the context of our efforts to better engage Youth, and the Generation Connect initiative, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) has the pleasure to announce Youth4Cyber, an initiative that aims at developing a global network of student-led associations that provide young people with awareness, knowledge and soft skills for cybersecurity.
The project aims to introduce and expose young people to the cybersecurity field, engage them to better understand the implications of it and ultimately encourage them to take on the cybersecurity challenges of tomorrow.
Youth4Cyber also aims to create a network of young people sharing experiences and provide them with a centralized platform of different opportunities related to the cybersecurity field.
The main goal of the project is to guide youth in their cybersecurity professional journey by creating a global network of students and young people as active agents, equip them to understand and be passionate about cybersecurity challenges across disciplines, while allowing them to have fun, learn and contribute with knowledge and ideas, ultimately making them ready to be valuable additions to the leadership of tomorrow. The target audience are youth between the age of 18-26 of secondary and university students.
