Ernesto Majó

Deputy Executive Director, LACNIC

Ernesto Majó is Deputy Executive Director of LACNIC. In the last 10 years, Ernesto Majó has been an active participant in the process of growth and development of LACNIC, representing the organization in global and regional forums and processes related to Internet, Telecommunications, and Internet Governance of Latin America and the Caribbean.

From his position as Manager of the External Relations and Communications Area of LACNIC, Ernesto has been responsible for managing the relationship and communication with the different stakeholders, the articulation of institutional cooperation and its financing; the development of alliances, and the program external training.

Previously, he was Coordinator of Institutional Cooperation (2006 - 2007) and first FRIDA Program Coordinator (2004 - 2006) including start-up and operation.

Before joining LACNIC, Ernesto held various positions of responsibility in the management and operation of transfer organizations technology and research in the Uruguayan agricultural sector, having also been consultant for FAO (Food and Agricultural Organization) and IADB (Inter-American Development Bank).
