Summary - Y.4612 (11/2025) - Framework of artificial intelligence of things

When artificial intelligence (AI) powers the Internet of things (IoT), it is referred to as artificial intelligence of things (AIoT). It is the combination of AI technologies with IoT infrastructure to achieve more efficient IoT operations, improve human–machine interactions and enhance data management and analytics. From a comprehensive review of existing standardization efforts on AI and IoT, Recommendation ITU-T Y.4612 describes the concepts, characteristics, technical features and approaches of AIoT. It also presents a conceptual model for AIoT.
