Summary - Y.3660 (04/2025) - Big data driven networking – Functional requirements and functional architecture of operation aspect for public network integrated non-public network service

Recommendation ITU-T Y.3660 specifies the functional requirements and the architecture of the operational aspect of public network integrated non-public (PNI-NPN) services based on big-data-driven networking (bDDN) to better enable bDDN, which is a type of future network framework that collects big data from networks and applications, and generates big data intelligence based on that data, to adapt to PNI-NPN service operations.
Non-public networks (NPNs) are designed for non-public use. Distinguished from public networks that provide network services to the general public, NPNs are dedicated to verticals such as industrial factories and campuses, and provide coverage in specific geographic areas to maintain the customized services. PNI-NPN is deployed with the help of public network by network slices or sharing partial network functions. Usually, PNI-NPN has flexible networking topologies and provide customized services, which bring challenges in the aspect of service operation.
