Summary - Y.3227 (04/2026) - Fixed, mobile and satellite convergence - Multipath transmission control for IMT-2020 networks and beyond

Fixed, mobile and satellite convergence (FMSC) is the capability that provides services and applications to end users regardless of the fixed, mobile or satellite access technologies. The multipath transmission control (MPTC) is a mechanism that uses one or more terrestrial or satellite network transmission paths to carry out data exchange between multi-access user equipment (MUE) and data network, which is realized by path discovery, path selection and path management. Recommendation ITU-T Y.3227 specifies the scenarios, requirements, functional architecture, procedures and security considerations of MPTC in the FMSC network for IMT-2020 networks and beyond. The radio aspects are out of the scope of this Recommendation.
