Service scheduling in fixed, mobile and satellite convergence (FMSC) networks is the network capability to process information reported from the applications, networks and user equipment (UE) to determine service-scheduling policies in the converged core network, and then steer, split and switch service flow or UE handover among these accesses based on policies. FMSC is the capability that provides services and applications to end users regardless of the fixed, mobile or satellite access technologies being used.
Recommendation ITU-T Y.3218 specifies the service scheduling in FMSC networks for IMT-2020 networks and beyond, focusing on overview, requirements, framework, network function enhancements, procedures and security considerations.
