This Recommendation describes the service definitions and capabilities of a multicast service in Public Data Networks. This Recommendation provides a common model for description of the service elements, defines the terminology and describes a set of capabilities which may be provided by such a multicast service. ITU-T Recommendations X.48 and X.49 define the procedures for provision of a basic and extended multicast service for DTEs using Recommendation X.25, respectively.
