SummaryCurrent network monitoring relies on numerous parameters configured based on administrators' experience. It suffers from redundant information, overlooked intrinsic relationships between parameters and fragmentation caused by OSI layer divisions, leading to inefficiencies. In multi-modality communication networks, this approach faces further challenges, including unique service characteristics, rapid emergence of new services and poor adaptability of existing parameter schemes. Generating a minimum monitoring parameter set with precise non-redundant information is thus necessary to maximize manpower savings and operational efficiency. Recommendation ITU-T Q.3918 will provide the requirements and reference model of minimum monitoring parameter set generation for multi-modality communication services. |
