Summary - H.643.2 (12/2025) - Requirements and architecture for information-centric networking (ICN)-based mobile multimedia services

Multimedia content is becoming dominant in the Internet, and the significant amount of the traffic in mobile networks is multimedia. Information-centric networking (ICN) offers increased flexibility, higher efficiency and improved user satisfaction in various multimedia services by using the information-centric paradigm, which is focused on the named content, rather than having to reference a specific and physical location of the content. Recommendation ITU-T H.643.2 describes requirements and functional architecture for ICN-based mobile multimedia services to deliver multimedia content in an efficient, scalable, secure and collaborative manner.
