Summary - F.749.21 (04/2026) - Requirements and framework for generative artificial-intelligence (AI)-enabled vehicle–cloud collaboration systems for vehicular multimedia

Due to limited computing resources on the vehicle side, it is necessary to implement cooperative processing between the vehicle and the cloud based on generative artificial intelligence (AI).
Recommendation ITU-T F.749.21 specifies a generative AI based vehicle–cloud collaboration (GAVCC) system framework, use cases and functional requirements, including intention recognition and response, multi-intention planning generation, personalized driver assistance information generation and multimodal interaction information generation. A GAVCC system based on this Recommendation will improve the user experience of the driver and passengers.
