(Antalya, 2006), Council was instructed to establish a working group
to review terminology used in the Constitution and Convention. The Group
is to report annually and to prepare a final report to the 2009 Session
of the Council. |

- to review the results of the work carried out in preparation
for and at this conference, including the proposals to the
conference;
- to study the use of the term “telecommunication(s)” in the
Constitution and Convention;
- to consider what terms should be used in the Constitution
and Convention in order to adequately reflect the impact of
information and communication technologies (ICTs) and ICT
applications in ITU activities;
- to identify options for integrating any new terminology in
the Constitution and Convention, where appropriate;
- to report to the Council annually on its progress with
respect to the issues referred to above;
- to prepare a final report, at the latest by the 2009 session
of the Council, for transmission to the 2010 plenipotentiary
conference;
- to liaise with relevant Council working group(s) dealing
with terminology.

The working group is open to all Member States of ITU.
