Subject: German Comments on draft final report of ITU CWG-Study

Dear Marie-Odile,

first of all we want to thank for the opportunity to send our comments on the draft report of the WG Study.

Germany welcomes the report as a realistic characterization of the discussions in the working group.

Even though the working group could not come to an agreement in some of the focal points we appreciate the efforts of the WG. Since new actors gain more and more influence on shaping the information society of the future ITU should not close the discussion process after having filed the final report. Like other international organisations the ITU should further investigate whether to enhance participation either from private sector members (not only from the telecommunications industries) or non-governmental organisations or individuals.
