Pursuant to
Resolution 155 (COM6/6) (Antalya, 2006), the Extraordinary Session
of Council in Antalya established the Management and Budget Group of the
Council (“MBG”), regarding the implementation of the strategic and
operational plans, biennial budgets and decisions of Council, and to
provide advice and guidance regarding the completion of the projects
detailed in Resolution 1243 and results-based management.
Information on meetings
The first
formal meeting of the Group took place on 18 June 2007 at
ITU headquarters in Geneva.
An
informal consultation meeting took place on Tuesday,
27 March 2007 to discuss the
composition, working methods, and work programme of the Group.
Participation
Under
Resolution 155 (COM6/6), the Council is instructed to determine the
composition and working methods of the Council MBG based on experience
acquired with NCOG. At the Extraordinary Session of Council in Antalya,
it was agreed that the MBG would make proposals on its composition and
working methods to the 2007 Session of the Council in September.
Chairmanship
As
decided by the Extraordinary Session of Council in Antalya, the
Group is provisionally chaired by Mr. José Saraiva Mendes, Portugal.
Meeting documents as
well as written contributions and any other relevant information will be
made available on this website. Contributions for consideration at the
meetings of the MBG should be submitted to the
secretary of the Group, Mr. Arthur B. Levin, in electronic form to
ContributionsMBG@itu.int.
