Translation
Document Production and Administration Unit (DPA)
Contact point for customers requiring translation or editing services. Coordinates translation requests between the department's different
customers and services and ensures that deadlines are met at all stages of document production.

Translation in six languages of ITU documents and publications. Editing. Round-the-clock support
to conferences and meetings, including language support to editorial committees.

Terminology, References and Computer Aids to Translation Section (STRAIT)
Maintains a terminological database, known as
Termite 6L,
in the six languages of the Union. Provides essential reference material to translators.
Performs terminological or reference searches as required. Maintains a relevant and
easily-accessible document collection for translators and reference clerks.

Capture and formatting of text and graphics in six languages.
Pool sections
Production of all documents in their final format,
before, during and after conferences and meetings and for the Union's
three Sectors and General Secretariat. Strict adherence to deadlines, particularly in regard to
publication of the electronic version on the web.
EDMG (Electronic Document Management Group)
Storage of all documents finalized in the Pool and ITU Sectors.
Scanning, conversion and formatting of electronic files and immediate
posting on the web of all documents of ITU meetings and conferences held
in Geneva or elsewhere.
Quickpub
Accelerated publication of ITU-T and ITU-R Recommendations,
enabling simultaneous availability of paper and web versions.

Publications
Publication development, production, coordination and management, involving the following activities:
Advice and management
Project preparation, assistance with design, presentation (layout) and template adjustment.
Registration
Preparation, scheduling and follow-up of publication notices and advance notices; processing and execution of orders.
Graphics
Design and execution of the graphics for publication covers, brochures, technical and promotional leaflets, signs, posters, logos, etc.
Production
Data assembly and compilation for the purposes of document production. Finalization of the electronic version for the various media (paper, web, CD, DVD-ROM).
CD-ROM and DVD-ROM
Transposition of the publication graphics onto the interface, content enrichment with navigation, links and multimedia.
Web
Conversion of texts from different formats for editing, support to authors.
Development and maintenance
Development and maintenance of the production tools, publications web pages and Adobe Acrobat server. Evaluation of new products and
software packages.
Quality assurance
Checking and validation of work leaving the division: proof-reading and editing in consultation with authors.
