Ing. Kiritkumar P. LATHIA, B.SC., C. Eng., FIEE
Within the Strategic Product Planning department of Siemens Mobile Communications S.p.A., Italy, Kiritkumar P. Lathia is Vice President for “Standardization & Fora”. As such he forms part of the international management team responsible for defining and directing standardization policy all strategic business activities related with standardization and regulations at both national and international level for the evolution of Siemens telecommunications products
Mr. Lathia has more than twenty years of management experience within telecommunications industry and has worked at all stages of product life cycle from definition of customer requirements and conceptual system design, software design & engineering, through to field installation and hand-over of telecommunications system.
Within ETSI, Mr. Lathia has been active in all its “strategic committees” related to ETSI’s work programme and its future role in Standardization community since 1993. He helped creation of 3GPP as Vice Chairman of “UMTS Globalisation Group”. Currently, he is an ETSI Member of Board and Member of Finance Committee. He also represents ETSI in 3GPP management meetings.
Within ITU-T sector, he is Vice Chairman of SSG on IMT-2000 and beyond systems.
Mr. Lathia graduated in Electrical Engineering with Magna cum Laude from University College Swansea, University of Wales, UK. He is also a Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Electrical Engineers (UK).
