Session 5 - WLAN in Disaster and Emergency Response (WIDER) Project

Abstract:
Currently, most organisations are installing their own communication infrastructure in disaster areas.
These organisations could benefit from a shared communication infrastructure. The WIDER project is aimed
at providing this infrastructure and also providing the same access to tools for the workers in the field
as in the head office.
The presentation will give an overview of the WIDER project from Ericsson Response in Stockholm, its
objectives, the different communication scenarios identified and the status of the work.
