JON ZIMMERMAN
Vice-President, e.Health, Siemens Medical Solutions
Mr. Zimmerman has more than 21 years of experience in healthcare-related businesses and
has recently been involved in the development of integrated EDI services, enterprise document
management, health information management systems, personalized portals, HIPAA transaction
services, and disease management-related applications. Mr. Zimmerman has served as Chairman
of the Board of Trustees of the WEDI (Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange) Foundation,
and was a driving force behind the 1999 HIPAA Security Summit with WEDI and Johns Hopkins.
He has a seat on the Leadership Committee of eHealth Initiative (eHI) and the Steering group
for Connecting for Health. He also serves as a board member for NCHICA
(North Carolina Healthcare Information and Communications Alliance), GHX (Global Healthcare Exchange)
and WEDI. Mr. Zimmerman has held various development and marketing positions within
Shared Medical Systems (a Siemens acquisition). Earlier in his career, Mr. Zimmerman worked in
research & development and sales at IBM.
