C. Peter Waegemann is the Chief Executive Officer of the Medical Records Institute, a Boston-based (US),
international forum for sharing knowledge, experience, and solutions in the journey toward e-health and
the electronic health record. He is also Acting Director of the Centre for the Advancement of Electronic
Health Records, Ltd. (United Kingdom). Peter is an international leader in health informatics with special
expertise and interest in e-Health, electronic patient record systems, standards, networking, mobile health,
telemedicine, and the creation of a national health information infrastructure.
Peter is a frequently sought-after speaker on e-Health and electronic health records. Over the past 5 years,
he was invited to present 480 lectures worldwide. He has authored 3 books and more than 100 articles. As thought
leader, he is frequently quoted in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and many international papers.
Peter Waegemann participates in a wide range of standards committees. In addition, he chairs the following
standards committees: ASTM E31 on Healthcare Informatics, US TAG for ISO TC 215 on Health Informatics, and the
Task Group on Consumer Issues of ISO TC 215. He is also Vice Chair of the Mobile Healthcare Alliance (MoHCA).
