Open Communications Architecture Forum (OCAF) Marketing White Paper
Accelerating Open Standards for Deploying Next Generation Networks
The Open Communications Architecture Forum (OCAF) Focus Group, represented by Doug Dreyer (IBM) Chair of OCAF and Johannes Prade (Siemens) OCAF HSS Lead, provided a status report of its activities to ITU-T Study Group 13, its parent hosting organization, on May 3, 2005. Study Group 13 was informed that they should anticipate the delivery of two OCAF outputs, a Marketing White Paper and A Carrier Grade Open Environment Reference Model.

This notice announces the availability of the OCAF Marketing White Paper. This White Paper, in addition to providing introductory information about OCAF, explains how OCAF's commitment to standards formulation, distributed architectures and enhanced functionality will foster a rich portfolio of OCAF-compliant COTS components and applications for deploying next generation networks, a reduced total cost of ownership related to service delivery, and increased involvement of subscribers in provisioning and administering services.
