Optical Transport Networks &
Technologies Project description
As 'Lead Study Group' on Optical Technology within the ITU-T, SG15 considers it
important that those involved, inside and outside of the ITU-T, in the day-to-day
development of standards related to Optical Networks, have a commonly accessible
platform for sharing relevant standards documentation at an early stage.
This hopefully will assist in meeting the common goal of focusing standards
development on specific topics in a single standards body, avoiding duplication
of work, increasing cooperation between key Standards Development
Organizations (SDO), Forums and Consortia, and as a result, produce market oriented and timely standards
aligned across the various bodies.
With this in mind the TSB Secretariat has set up an iFTP area, within the
SG15 Web site, as a platform for the exchange of relevant standards documentation.
This iFTP area is accessible to members of SG15 and of other SDOs, Forums,
Consortia that are
involved in developing related Optical Network standards.
To use this facility it is necessary to subscribe the relevant e-mail exploder.
Please contact the relevant lead person of your standards organization (e.g. SG 15 Rapporteur, IETF WG chair,
T1X1.5 subcommittee
chair) to obtain the necessary clearance.
Request access to the FTP area and subscription to the
mailing list
The Optical Transport Networks FTP area may be accessed via a File Transfer
Protocol (FTP) client.
