Terrestrial BR IFIC documentation

Introduction

This document provides detailed information about TerRaBase, the database utilized by the Terrestrial Radiocommunication System (TerRaSys). Specifically, it addresses the version of TerRaBase distributed via the terrestrial BR IFIC, which is a subset of the version used internally by the ITU.

Numerous programs available on the terrestrial BR IFIC utilize TerRaBase. For example, TerRaQ is a sophisticated query tool designed to perform queries on TerRaBase, generate exports from the database, and more.

Intended Audience

This document is intended for software developers, power users, and other advanced users who wish to interact directly with TerRaBase, rather than through intermediary programs such as TerRaQ, which is distributed on the terrestrial BR IFIC. Users who are utilizing TerRaQ or similar programs do not require the information contained in this document.

Accordingly, this document assumes that its readers are already familiar with relational database concepts and does not attempt to provide general information about them. For instance, while TerRaBase utilizes nulls in certain contexts, this document presupposes that readers understand the concept of nulls within relational databases and, therefore, does not explain this concept.
