ITU provided
expert
assistance
to the
Administration (Ministry
of Economic Development).
ITU
assistance was focused on
the
planning
of future
access telecommunication networks in Georgia and was performed
with computer planning tools of ITU partners.
Several typical
sample networks, including capital city, rural area and overall country
broadband market in Georgia were
selected
and
all necessary input data as geo referenced raster maps,
population, households, existing subscribers
and infrastructure
were collected.
Number of
studies
on modeling
of broadband
wireline and wireless access networks
for
the selected
sample networks
in Georgia,
concerning market
perspectives,
broadband
technology
alternatives
and economic
effects were carried out.
A detailed
technical report
with analysis
of the
obtained
from the studies results
and recommendations
regarding the development of
future access telecommunication networks in Georgia
was prepared afterwards from ITU and made available for the
Georgian
Administration. |
