3. Airport Tax
Most countries include Airport Tax within the airline ticket; however, enquire with your Ticketing Agent for any Airport or applicable taxes. A
User Development Fee (UDF) is charged on all domestic and international departing passengers at the new Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad, Hyderabad.
Applicable UDF is as below:
- International Departures – INR 1000 per embarkation
- Domestic Departures – INR 375 per embarkation
- Exemption from levy of UDF:
1 – Infants
2 – Crew on duty
3 – No stopover – transit/transfer passengers (within 6 hours)
4 – Passengers involuntarily rerouted due to technical snags or weather conditions
The UDF for international and domestic passengers will be collected at the point of sale and will be shown separately on the ticket.

3. Entry visas and immigration requirements
Visa
Foreign Nationals wishing to come to India are required to possess a valid passport of their country and a valid Indian Visa.
There is no provision of 'Visa on Arrival' in India and no fee is charged for immigration facilities at the airports.
Therefore, foreign visitors should ensure that they are in possession of valid Indian Visa before they start their journey to India, except nationals of Nepal and Bhutan who do not require visa to enter India and nationals of
the Maldives who do not require visa for entry in India for a period up to 90 days (a separate Visa regime exists for diplomatic/official passport holders).
The Consular Passport and Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs is responsible for issuance of Indian visas to the foreign nationals for their visit for various purposes. This facility is granted through various Indian missions abroad.
Visa fees are non-refundable and subject to change without notice.
The High Commission reserves the right on granting and deciding type/duration of visa irrespective of the fees tendered at the time of making application. Granting of Visa does not confer the right of entry to India and is subject to the discretion of the Immigration Authorities.
Specific Visas are granted for a variety of purposes. Listed below in a are the

Visa Application Form
The visa application form is available at the office of Indian Embassy in the country where the NRI/PIO resides.
Visa form for nationals of Pakistan and Bangladesh are generally different. All NRIs/PIOs, including children (who don't possess OCI or PIO card) need to apply for Visa in separate visa forms.
Procedure for Obtaining a Visa
Visas can be applied for in person or by post at the High Commission of India based in the country from where the candidate intends to depart for India. Specific visas are granted for a variety of purposes that are aforementioned.
Requirements for Visa
Generally the following documents are required for obtaining Indian Visa. However, the requirement may vary from country to country.
- Original passport valid for at least 6 months
- Visa fee
- Two passport size photographs
- Supporting documents, where necessary
- Duly completed application form
Visa for NRIs and PIOs
Persons of Indian Origins and Non-Resident Indians who possess either OCI (Overseas Indian Citizenship) or PIO card do
not need an Indian Visa.
OCI and PIO give them the freedom to visit India without visa. OCI and PIO cards are multi-purpose life long visa for visiting India.
However, those NRIs and PIOs who do not have an OCI or PIO card can apply for and get Indian visa through the procedure mentioned above.

4. General information on insurance, health and vaccinations
Participants are advised to obtain supplementary medical/travel insurance.

5. Currency and Currency Regulations
Official Currency
The official currency is the Indian Rupee (Rs). One rupee is
divided into 100 paisa. Rupee currency notes come in the
denomination of 1, 2, 5,10,20,50,100,500 and 1000.
Current rate is 1 USD = 48 Indian Rupees (June 2009); but may fluctuate.
Currency Regulations
You can bring in any amount of foreign currency, travellers cheque and take out as much as you brought in. However foreign currency in excess of USD 5000 or its equivalent in another currency, USD 10,000 in form of travelers cheque or a combination of currency and travelers cheque in excess of USD
10,000 should be declared upon arrival on the currency declaration
form, to be attested by customs officer.

6. Electricity
Countries with dissimilar pin & voltage configuration are
required to bring their own conversion adapters. Voltage in
Hyderabad and other parts of the country is 220 V. 50Hz. The 2/3 pin
connecting plug is different from that used in some other countries
e.g. USA, UK, JAPAN .etc .IT will not be a problem for delegates
staying at HICC Novotel ( the venue hotel) and Ella Suites. For the budget category
hotel the delegates need to bring in their own adaptor.

7. Internet Access
Wireless Internet access will be available at the meeting venue.

8. Mobile phones
GSM handsets, either triband or quadband with 900 & 1800 mega hertz frequency will function in Hyderabad/India. Local
SIM card and handset can be easily hired.

Approximate weather conditions are temperatures between 30- 40 degrees Celsius. Delegates are advised to bring light clothing.
