ICTs for a Better Future is a 15-minute
film produced by ITU in collaboration with UNTV. It explores new and ongoing
innovations in ICTs that will lead to pathbreaking developments of the future.
It highlights ITU’s work in creating cutting edge standards in ICTs and
radiocommunications, managing spectrum and assigning satellite orbits, meeting
new global challenges of cybersecurity and climate change and bringing their
benefits to communities in the remotest areas.
For most people nowadays, it's nearly impossible to imagine life without ICTs. From television to mobile phones and the Internet,
ICTs are reshaping the world, helping billions of people to live, work and play. The film covers locations around the world and takes inputs from some of the key innovators and thinkers of the shape of things to come: the evolution of the Internet and mobile technology and how these could improve our daily lives, be it healthcare, education, trade and commerce, as well as provide solutions in tackling some of the global challenges of our times, such as climate change and network security.
