Workshop on 14 May

On 14 May (10:00 to 18:00 hours), we organized a workshop on "ICTs: building the green city of the future" in the Forum area of the UN Pavilion which was open to all visitors.

Theme Forum on 15-16 May

ITU co-organized the Theme Forum on "ICT and Urban Development" which took place in Ningbo, between 15-16 May, with a host of top speakers including ITU senior management.

Forum on 17 May

Exploring the role of ICT in contributing to better communication and better future for city life, ICT sector stakeholders came together in the Forum area of the UN Pavilion between 10:00 and 13:00 hours on 17 May to discuss Better City, Better Life with ICTs in the TD Global Development Forum.


was at the World Expo 2010 in Shanghai, promoting "Better City, Better Life with ICTs". From 10-17 May at the UN Pavilion we offered a colourful and futuristic vision of life in an intelligent, ICT enhanced city.

Throughout the entire Expo, the UN Pavilion is showing our latest film entitled "ICTs for a Better Future". This film explores how ICTs can be a force for positive change, helping to create a kinder, more connected world.



WTISD 2010

Expo Center at World Expo 2010ITU held its annual World Telecommunication and Information Society Day (WTISD) celebration in the Shanghai Hall of the Expo Center.

The WTISD-2010 theme "Better city, better life with ICTs" is aligned with that of the World Expo: "Better city, better life", which represents the common wish of all humankind to achieve better living standards in future urban environments. Information and communication technologies (ICT) play a catalysing role in achieving this goal.
