Activity: Strengthening Affordable Healthcare using Portable Health Clinic

Activity description: The project addresses morbidity (poor health) in unreached communities with affordable technology and empowered local health workers. The design is a briefcase containing medical sensors for primary health check up. The eHealth application “GramHealth” embedded in the system assists the health worker to diagnose patient morbidity. High risk patients are provided remote consultancy to a doctor in the project’s call center. The project has partnered with Grameen in Bangladesh and provided healthcare services to 20,000 remote patients. A business model has been developed to sustainably serve millions of patients as well as create thousands of empowered health workers.
