Activity description: Empodera platform highlight those people and initiatives that are using technologies from a social and innovative point of view to make a more inclusive an empowered society. When we participated at WSIS in 2003 we realised that it was not a casuality that this Summit was the first to allow citizenship to participate actively: technology is a more important tool in the history to alleviate social gaps. We took this message and decided to make something to keep in touch with all the people interested in social use of ICT to generate sociotechnological innovation for e-inclusion and promote citizen empowerment. This the seed from where Empodera is born, to make a more inclusive and empowered citizenship we believe that networking is key. Empodera is born to share what citizens are doing on this field with the world and inspire them to make something, to stand up from the couch and make a difference. Empowerment is the formula we use, an we apply it to different products or spaces, online and offline spaces opened for thought, discussion and inspiration with contents and experiences of experts and citizens about the social use of technology, social innovation and more. All the contents are available in English http://www.empodera.org/en. From this main point you can access to these contents or products: 1 Experiences: Videos, Articles and Interviews 2 eSTAS, Symposium on Technologies for Social Action 3 The EMPODERA Awards 4 Publications: Book/e-Book 5 #EmporeArte, collaborative photo exhibition Empodera platform highlight those people and initiatives that are using technologies from a social and innovative point of view to make a more inclusive an empowered society.
