Activity description:
As part of locust control, the Algerian Space Agency is to provide the National Institute of Plant Protection (INPV), a situation map from images ALSAT-1 to identify areas of activity chlorophyll a breeding ground of the desert locust.
Alsat-1 images uploaded at the end of July 2009, were processed and interpreted to assess the activity of chlorophyll Three (03) regions.
almost 19 sites have been identified from the images Alsat an end-July 2009. The chlorophyll activity is moderate to high ecological conditions favorable for breeding of locusts in the 03 areas studied.
