The National Broadband Policy for Mauritius, which is being formulated, aims to set out a strategic vision for an Intelligent Mauritius (branded as the “I-Mauritius”) and to establish national goals regarding broadband while elaborating specific policies to achieve those goals. The document will outline the overall policy objectives and targets for a Broadband I-Mauritius and will spell out the strategies to be adopted.
The major pillars of the NBP2012 include implementing and fostering a broadband ecosystem in the ICT services market, within the required regulatory framework, and thus paving the way for the adoption of the said concept within the overall economic activities of the country.
