The Ministry of Foreign Trade maintains a database for the foreign trade sector, which dynamically provides information on the country’s (non-oil exports, re-export, and imports). The users are able to the specify data dimensions, time from 1999 to 2009 as well as the geographical distance of 202 countries, and the commodity by sections and chapters. This database is the first of its kind in the GCC countries. The objective of having such database is to develop the foreign trade sector, promote the UAE in foreign markets and assist the decision makers’ access to critical information for the trade policy of the country.
