This initiative aims at bridging regional legislative gaps, preventing the illicit and illegal use of cyberspace and mapping out a course of action that will foster the creation of a legislative enabling environment in EMCs. It will also complement ESCWA efforts aimed at fostering regional integration by encouraging the harmonization of cyber legislations in the ESCWA region. This harmonization exercise will also facilitate and regulate governmental, professional, commercial, cultural and social interchanges between EMCs.
